Whether you have an existing site that you want to optimize… or if you are brand new to affiliate marketing… market research is where you always begin. Why? Because the first step to a successful website is first determining  if there is even a market out there for  you!

You want your Local Mobile Monopoly topic to be of interest to a large enough segment of the population. You don’t want to go through all the work of creating a  website and then not be able to drive any traffic to it.

Basically, you’ll need to do some research first!

Now do some searches for terms in your niche using Google’s tool, just  like we did in the video.  If you’ve determined that there is a market for your niche… now  we need to drive traffic there!  Traffic Potential  One of the best ways to check to see if you  can drive traffic to your site is by visiting  EzineArticles.com: http://ezinearticles.com/.  EzineArticles.com will allow you to enter in  your keyword or phrase into their search box.  From there you’re able to look at all the  articles in their database associated with that  keyword.

When the list of articles is generated, click one and scroll to the bottom  of the page where you can actually see the published date, plus the  number of times the article was viewed.
We did this very same thing with Rachel and found that there were  hundreds of different articles related to “baby shower games.” We  were able to determine that of the recently published articles, many had been viewed hundreds – if not thousands – of times!

From this, we now know that there is potential traffic out there that can be driven to Local Mobile Monopoly website. Do the same thing for your niche. If the number of article views looks promising (as explained in the  video), then all you have to do is publish articles related to your topic to  start getting traffic!

Okay, now you know that there is a market for  your subject… and you know you have this  untapped traffic that you can drive to your  site…All you need now is something to sell!

How to Find Products to Promote for you Local Mobile Monopoly campaign?

The easiest way to find some affiliate products to promote is by doing a  Google search: http://www.google.com/.  In Rachel’s case we searched for “baby shower games + affiliate
programs” in Google. We wanted to find affiliate programs that were  related to her topic so that we could monetize her website. All  “monetize” means is a way to make money ☺!
You can do the very same thing. Just follow the easy steps in the  video.

There are thousands of affiliate programs out there for you to choose  from, you just have to search for them! If you find an affiliate program that fits your local mobile monopoly review site, then you can easily  join the program or network. Signing up for the affiliate program allows  you to promote the products on your site using special links. When visitors click those special local mobile monopoly links and buys the product, you earn a  commission off those sales. Nice!

Imagine you are an accomplished affiliate marketer who makes a lot of money promoting other peoples’ information products. Over the years you have built up quite a large and responsive list of customers. You have been approached by someone you have never heard of before who wants you to promote their product. Would you go ahead and do that without first taking a detailed look at the product in question? Of course not.

This is why you must offer your affiliates, and potential affiliates, access to it so they can conduct their own review. There are actually 2 elements to the word ’review’. On the one hand they will review the product by reading it and then come to a decision as to whether or not they want to promote it. On the other hand having made that decision in many cases they will want to write their OWN review so they can market your product to their own list.

This may be in the form of a few lines in an email “Hey I had a good look through this and guess what, it really works, you should try it too” or it could be a full blown review which appears as a post on their blog. As an aside, writing a review and posting that on your blog is a very good way to promote other people’s products as an affiliate.

So naturally before they can do this, they need to take a good look at your product first. The wrong way to do this is to wait for potential affiliates to send you an email requesting a review copy. Sure you could do that and reply by attaching a PDF to your email but don’t you think that comes across as a bit unprofessional? The professional way to do this would be to anticipate such requests in the first place

This is done by way of having a  Local Mobile Monopoly Review Joint Venture page that you can direct your JV partners/affiliates to as and when required. The above screenshot is from the sample template included on the video page. Save that file to your hard drive and copy ideas from the formatting for your own JV Page. The main element is that you have a link from this page allowing your affiliates to download a copy of your product. This can either be a text link, or as in the case of the template, you may find a high quality graphic looks much more attractive. Either way, when that link is clicked it allows the affiliate to download a zip file containing all the elements of your poduct.

You may also want to consider including a “Product Tour” type video. Many people prefer to watch a video rather than read a block of text, and quite often it is easier to get your main points across this way. This works particularly well if your product is more than just a single ebook and includes other components, such as videos.

Also don’t underestimate the power of a personal message – introduce the video with you talking to the camera rather than a computer screenshot. People do appreciate the personal touch and it’s nice to be introduced to the real person behind the product.

All these small touches will increase your rapport with your affiliates which is obviously to your benefit. As well as the product download link and a JV video, include the affiliate text links that they can use to promote you. Yes, it’s also on the Local mobile monopoly review  page (coming up in thefinal chapter) but there is no harm in being efficient and saving your affiliate the work of having to click through to that page. One final thing to bear in mind.

When you send out emails to potential affiliates some may request product review access BEFORE they sign up via your JV Signup Page (which we looked at previously). They will make a decision on whether or not to promote you based upon their product review, so again make it easy for them to sign up by also including the JV Optin box on that page.
