The launch date is obviously the date your product is unleashed into the marketing world; in other words the date it “goes live”. Pre-launch is the period before you officially launch
your product when you are trying to create as much interest as possible about it. You’ll notice the movie industry does this a lot; whenever a major new movie is released there is
all sorts of hype about it in the media in the weeks leading up to the first screening.

Normally you would start your pre-launch period between 3 weeks and 1 week before the actual launch. The aim is to give people a sneak preview of what they can expect, and to
build anticipation. This is a critical time to make sure you are working closely with your affiliates to co-ordinate your efforts. The main reason why it is important to include launch and pre-launch dates on the signup page is that your JV partner or affiliates may have already agreed to promote another product on the same date. Obviously they are not going to promote 2 products at the same time, unless you are dealing with affiliates who have multiple lists in multiple niches.

Also the feedback you get will be very useful. It may well be that affiliates are happy to promote you, but they are promoting another marketer’s product on the same day and you weren’t aware of that launch. Should you find a number of affiliates telling you this then the answer is simple – change your launch date so it doesn’t clash with someone else’s. Without including those dates on your signup page you wouldn’t have got that information.

This is something that has become increasingly popular over the last couple of years. To offer extra incentives and to stimulate competition between  local mobile monopoly affiliates, you should run an affiliates’ contest offering a series of prizes. These can be monetary or they can be actual products; technology based items such as Iphones, Ipods and laptops are very popular.

The most popular type of contest would be based on sales numbers between a series of dates, but you could also run additional contests for the number of sales within a 24 hour
period. Naturally it is vital that you have a leaderboard page which is regularly updated so that affiliates can check where they stand. How many prizes to give away and to what value? You’ll have to calculate what you can afford and how many sales you are expecting to make. Don’t worry if you don’t get this  right the first time. At a minimum though you should probably have a prize for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place. With subsequent promotions as you become better known you will most likely want to increase that so the Top Ten are all getting a prize of some sort.

You may think that a statement of the obvious, but I have seen JV Signup pages where there is no mention of the percentage rate of commission! I doubt those were successful product launches. How much should you offer? Well, you have to make it lucrative for the top affiliates to want to promote you which means there is no point offering 10%. In the beginning when you are not particularly well known, you’re going to have to bite the bullet and offer a higher rate of commission. Many products on Clickbank are offering rates of 75% or 80%.
Now at this point you may be thinking “what, I’m only going to receive 20% of the sales revenue?”. This is a decision for you to take, but remember 20% of a large number is
better than 100% of zero. Your affiliates are going to make you a LOT of sales that you just wouldn’t be able to get yourself.

There are also a number of other side benefits that may not be immediately obvious. First of all, everyone who has bought from you now gets added to your list. They have bought
from you once and, assuming your product is good, will buy from you again. There is also a good chance that they can become an affiliate for you. Don’t forget, if your product goes
well and your affiliates make a lot of sales, they will be extremely receptive to promoting your NEXT product.

So think long term. As I’ve have mentioned before, it is unlikely that your very first product will make you a killing. However, your second or third products may very well do
that. Of course, by the time you have created a number of successful products, the rate of, commission you need to pay will be lower. Aim for an eventual affiliate commission rate of
50%.

Make this as detailed as you can. Instead of saying “this is an ebook and a couple of videos about blogging” state “this is a 48 page ebook on how to set up a blog, together with 2 videos stretching out over 27 minutes”. Include screenshots of the table of contents from the ebook, and clips from the videos. Use graphics to draw attention to any part of
your product.

The more information you can give your affiliates the better. Help them to make an informed decision. Imagine this was you considering whether or not to promote that local mobile ponopoly product – are you happy with the level of information contained within the product description?

Reasons to Promote

In the same way that you must give your end user reasons to BUY your product, so you must also give your affiliate reasons to PROMOTE your product. There is no point in your creating a product that has already been done a hundred times before. In “marketing speak” this is known as a “me-too” product; try and avoid them. So, if for example during the last 6 months there have been several products “How to make money on Facebook”, don’t bother creating another one UNLESS you have a new or different angle on it. Of course, let’s get realistic here. In internet marketing it is extremely difficult, particularly for a novice to come up with a BRAND NEW system of making money.
However, it is very easy to find a slightly different angle, or present the information in a different manner. In the Facebook example, if all the products have been ebooks you could include a series of “how to” videos. There is always a way of presenting your product as “unique” and “new”. If you genuinely can’t do this then consider creating a different product.
Therefore you must be aware that the affiliate will be asking him or herself “why should I promote this product, what makes it different?”. List all the benefits to the user, and state  who the product is targetted at? Is it aimed at a complete internet marketing novice, or someone who has made a small amount of “hobby money” online, but would like to make a little more? Maybe you want to go more niche and want to target people using article marketing? Maybe you have found a way of getting more traffic from particular article sites that no-one else seems to mention?

The clearer the picture you have in your own mind of your exact Local Mobile Monopoly target market, the greater your chance of success in not only attracting quality affiliates, but also getting the sales. Never ever make the mistake of creating a product “aimed at everybody”. There’s an old saying “if you try to sell to everybody you’ll end up selling to nobody”.

By conversion statistics we mean the percentage of orders achieved for the number of times the sales page was viewed. If 100 people view your sales page and you get 5 orders then your sales page is converting at 5%, i.e. converting a prospect into a paying customer. Naturally this is something of huge interest to affiliates. Imagine you are looking at 2 similar products and wondering which one to promote. Product A is apparently converting at 4% and Product B at 8%. So all things being equal (price, commission rate etc) Product

B would make you twice as much money. Of course other factors can come into play.

The product could be a $5,000 seminar with a commission rate of 75% which is converting at 0.5% – still very lucrative, although you wouldn’t find that on Clickbank of course. The point is that the raw statistics are important to an affiliate. He or she needs to have a rough idea about how much money promoting your product would bring them. Results can and do differ across different lists but the basic information is very necessary for them to make an informed decision.

If you already have a list of your own then test out your product on your list first. Suppose you send out emails to 1000 people and you get NO orders. It’s unlikely that an affiliate
would get much better results with their own list. So in that case alarm bells should start to ring, and you would need to take a very serious look at your sales copy. But that’s another reason why it’s so critical to test first. Imagine your embarrassment if you got several prominent affiliates on board and their sales were zero. It would be
extremely difficult to approach those marketers again with subsequent products.

Naturally your affiliates will want to take a look at your sales copy. If your copy is poor, as we examined in a previous chapter, they won’t promote. Either include your sales copy on
the signup page, or preferably have a link from there to a separate page. You may find that some affiliates will make suggestions for improvements to the copy. Listen to their
advice, they have done this before.

If they request that their own testimonial be included, then that’s great – add their testimonial to your sales page. Don’t worry if your copy isn’t 100% finished because of some minor detail (guarantee graphic, testimonial photos etc). Those things are not critical; what is important is that your actual body text is finished and spell checked. Do not make the mistake that many people seem to do and write “guru’s” or “video’s” when you mean “gurus” and “videos”. Extremely unprofessional! All HTML editors (NVU, FrontPage, Dreamweaver) have built in spell checkers – use them! (Yes, I know I’m setting myself up for someone to find spelling mistakes in this ebook!)

Follow Local Mobile Monopoly’s as well as Clickbank’s Rules

Compared to some companies that act as a portal for selling your products, Clickbank are pretty straightforward to deal with. They have relatively few rules and regulations in comparison to the likes of Ebay or Local Mobile Monopoly . Make sure that you follow them; they are pretty simple. The first one should appear at the top of your download page, just underneath your header graphic. It is a simple statement that you MUST copy word for word: (Your Billing Statement Will Show A Charge From Clk*Bank.com for This Transaction)

The other thing that your download page must contain is a contact email address. There are no strict rules as to where it must appear; you can insert it at the top of the page, at the bottom of the page, in fact you can include it more than once if you want.

I would recommend that rather than using the usual format of emailaddress@host.com you replace ‘@’ with ‘AT’. This is to avoid the various email spam bots that crawl sites looking for email addresses. This would be a perfectly acceptable example: CONTACT US: emailaddress AT LocalMobileMonopoly.com The point is don’t make the link clickable and you’ll be fine. All very simple to do, I’m sure you’ll agree.

Add Banners to JV Partners’ Products

This is the most important part of the Download Page from the point of view of attracting affiliates, and keeping them happy. Really, you can’t afford to get this wrong. You must include banner ads (clickable graphics that link to a sales page) for your actual and/or potential Joint Venture partners. However….and this is the crucial point that almost everyone gets wrong……do NOT make them affiliate links. Instead they must be standard links to that person’s sales page.

An Local Mobile Monopoly affiliate link is a link containing code that would entitle you to a commission if that person bought your partner’s product. By NOT making it an affiliate link your partner would then get to keep all of the revenue generated from that sales, and not have to pay YOU commission.

Just imagine how that would appear from the viewpoint of a top affiliate. This shows “this guy/gal is serious”. So you forfeit the commission you would normally make and in effect hand that money over to the affiliate who you would like promoting YOU! Do you think doing this will increase or decrease the chances of them promoting your product? Right.

This is very much a recognized phenomenon. I am sure you have noticed that yourself. Some days you are very receptive to offers, other days someone could offer you all sorts of things and you’re just not interested. You’re not in a buying mood. However, your brand new customer IS in a buying mood. So take advantage of that. Yes,
you should certainly include the non-affiliate links to your partners’ products as mentioned. But there is no reason why you can’t mix things up a little. Amongst the non Local Mobile Monopoly affiliate links, also include affiliate links to other partners’ products. No reason not to make a little extra money.

There are 3 things to bear in mind with this section of the download page. Obviously you are going to include the products of those marketers who you are aiming to target. The products, especially the affiliate products where you ARE making a commission must be
1. High quality
2. Relevant to the product you have just sold
3. A good deal (e.g. product normally sells for $77, now available for $27)

You could also include some more free products, either your own or those of your potential affiliate/joint venture partner. There are no rights and wrongs with this, but
choose a good combination that works for you, and don’t be afraid to change it around as time progresses.

Local Mobile Monopoly – The Testimonials

If you have followed this carefully then you will have put together sales copy telling a  compelling story. The more personal you can make this the better. You have created empathy with your potential buyer. However there is still a very critical element missing. At this stage your prospect is thinking OK that’s great, but I’ve heard all this before.

Where’s the Local Mobile Monopoly proof?.

You have made several claims about how your product will benefit the person reading your sales copy, but because he or she has never heard of you before, you do still have a slight credibility problem. They want to believe you, but they don’t. How can you overcome this natural skepticism?

A testimonial says to the reader Look I was just as skeptical as you, but I tried this product and these are the resultsh. No-one wants to be the guinea pig for an untested product, no-one wants to stand out from the crowd. That is human nature. However, let’s just reverse that scenario. Suppose gthe crowdh are saying gwow, this product is great, it does exactly what it promised to do, I can’t imagine my life/my business without it!h. Again the same human nature comes into play; no-one wants to be left out, or left behind by this great new Local Mobile Monopoly product which REALLY does work.

The job of the testimonials is to make this aspect of human nature work FOR you, not against you. Testimonials must be accurate and honest. NEVER ever write out testimonials on behalf of people who don’t even exist. Do not make up names. You will quickly get into trouble; don’t forget both your product and your sales page will be reviewed by Clickbank before they accept it, and suspicious looking testimonials is something they are on the lookout for.

Equally importantly, the top affiliates who you are trying to attract are also no fools. They know the difference between a good testimonial and a bad one, a genuine one and one that is dubious. Actually the best case scenario for you is to get testimonials from your affiliates; that gives them a stake in your product. Bear in mind that under new FTC guidelines introduced on December 1st 2009, all testimonials must carry a disclaimer.

You can never have too many testimonials. They can come in 3 different formats . text, audio or video. Or indeed a combination of all 3. Videos obviously have greater credibility than simple text. If you only have a text based testimonial then do try and include a picture of the person endorsing your product. Remember, all these things add up to a better converting sales letter, which will increase the likelihood of getting top marketers to

As with the headline, what makes this a great testimonial are the specifics. Specific dates, specific amounts of money are fantastic things to include. Far better than writing this is a great product which made me a lot of moneyh; in all honesty that is a meaningless statement. Far be it for me to be critical of one of the best selling Local Mobile Monopoly products on Clickbank, but I would have also included a picture of Adam , and a link to his web site.

That just adds more credibility. I guess buyers are more skeptical in 2011 than they were in 2007!

Local Mobile Monopoly – TELL A STORY!

Imagine your potential customer is sitting opposite you and you are making your gsales  pitchh. The best sales pitches are stories. By that I don’t mean childrens’ stories or fairy
tales, but give an interesting one to one narrative. One of the best ways I have heard this summed up in a simple sentence was Once I was lost, now I am found All this really means is that you present a problem that your reader has, empathise and relate your own experience of that problem, and then offer the solution.

Telling this in the form of a personal anecdote creates great empathy between you and the reader, and  makes them eager to read all of your story.

Go through the sales letters for different products on Clickbank. See which ones make you want to buy the Local Mobile Monopoly product. They will invariably be the ones with sales copy written in the form of a personal story. By the way don’t just look at the money making type products. If  you have a hobby or a personal interest, there will almost certainly be products on those subjects.
For example if you have a mobile  you will find many products on there related to Local Mobile Monopoly. Even if your product is going to be in the make moneyh niche you can learn an awful lot by studying products in other niches, particularly if you have a personal interest.
